Project variety allows employees to develop broad materials science / chemistry experience. There is freedom to pursue new projects/clients.

Management takes some serious convincing in order to make necessary changes. Freedom goes both ways, many employees use their freedom to be lazy which is rough at a small company.

The people you work with are wonderful and the team works together to help each other accomplish their tasks. They care about one another both inside and outside the lab and care about the clients. The company allows for flexibility which has been vital for me at times.

There's not a lot of upward mobility and the pay could be better. It's the nature of small businesses though.
