Minpunten
I worked in the Pharmaceutical Analysis group at Covance in Madison, Wisconsin. There was a huge them versus us attitude by the departmental management/supervisor group against the non-managerial staff. Employees were essentially looked at as slave labor and treated accordingly. Not surprisingly, the departmental morale was low yet management could never understand why. In addition, management always blamed problems on non-managerial staff and never accepted responsibility for their own decisions or actions. Turnover was high and there was a strong CYA attitude. People were (for the most part) unwilling to help others or share their knowledge and experience because of that. There was plenty of backstabbing by people who did not like other people they perceived as being smarter or as a threat to their position. Data generated for the clients was slow to be reviewed (client reports were commonly very late) and work frequently had to be done again because so many errors were discovered. Several major clients dropped this group because of their shoddy work. Finally, executive management tended to deprive this particular group of resources because they did not bring in enough money for the company. Bottom line is stay away from the PA group at Covance if you are considering employment there.
