* Poor planned projects that end up in nothing. * Your supervisor might not have a clear idea of the project being developed. * Soft funding institution. * Too bureaucratic. * Promised something during the job interview that never materialized. * They expect you to have 0 personal life. * You are expected to work in more than six projects and yield results in all of them.

Beautiful location, you oversee the Bay, Golden Gate Bridge and SF. Research environment, great bridge for academics to transition to a more applied research. Benefits quite good

Minpunten

Low wages, especially in the scientific staff. Basically no career progression. Offices are a mixed bags (some departments have brand new buildings, others have very old buildings). Do not rely on their immigration services to get anything beyond temporary work visas.
