The company had a dynamic, supportive culture. The HR and sales leadership were the best I'd ever worked with in the industry. There are some talented people in the design, software, and product teams. At one point the company was not only welcoming of diversity but celebrated it.
Minpunten
The new executive leadership that was brought in once the private equity firm took over made sweeping changes without even a conversation with the team those decisions impacted. I mean, I had a single one-on-one meeting with my new leader in the entire first year the new private equity team took over. I clearly had questions and was lied to about how and why decisions were being made. Their best attempt at managing the change was to have the entire company read "Who Moved My Cheese?" but there were zero conversations about leadership's own accountability in how decisions are going to be formulated. The best way to describe the change is that it went from being Costa Rica's "pura vida" to North Korea's "just do what we say." Unfortunately, the product itself has become stale and outdated as a result.
