Pluspunten
The only positives were the artists on the floor. But now that all the stereo work has been outsourced, the people and the projects are gone.
Minpunten
The only reason I'm writing this review is because Legend is still in Toronto and may need to hire people to fill their VFX department at some point. If you are one of those people, I implore you, DO NOT GIVE THIS COMPANY THE BENEFIT OF YOUR SKILLS. Pay is horrible. Work hours are horrible. The studio itself is cold and dark and feels like a factory, which is how they want it so you're never comfortable. Benefits are the bare minimum with no vision coverage... in an art studio... where you need 2 good working eyes to do your job. Amenities include a couple coffee machines and 2 fridges. No transit re-reimbursement. 30-minute mandatory un-paid lunch breaks. Per-artist quotas with extra pressure for weekend work if you come up short. There are paid breaks, but you will get called out if you go one minute over. No internet. No phones allowed on the floor. Dated equipment that barley meets industry standard. Non-ergonomic chars that are all mostly broken. It's as close to a sweat shop as a VFX studio can be. Legend is a company that will bleed you dry at the lowest rate possible and kick you to the curb . They do not care about their staff at any level below management. If you're coming in as a junior, you're an expense to them, and there is a thick atmosphere of "you should consider yourself lucky to have a job". They don't deserve you. You've dedicated your life to mastering a skill. Spent thousands on education, hardware, and software to support your passion. DO NOT WASTE THAT ON THIS TOXIC COMPANY.
