Pluspunten
Working here has some huge upsides. The team is a pleasure to work with, they take great care on screening for both the skillset and the personality of people they hire. When tackling daunting tasks or overcoming obstacles, working with talented, great people makes a huge difference in how enjoyable the work is. There's a ton of learning opportunities as the company grows, especially for students, and I've learned lost abut management, conflict resolution, hiring, growing a business, and more. The culture is very supportive because of the people they bring on- we expect each other to perform well and hold each other accountable for that, but we can always reach out to each other if we need help without feeling like we'll be cut down for not knowing how to do things or solve a particular problem. I feel free to challenge my managers ideas and argue my point of view with repercussions if we have a disagreement, and most people on the team try to choose the best ideas to move forward with, even if those ideas are not their own. This makes working here a place where I feel both respected and challenged, which is a blast!
Minpunten
The pay isn't as high as it would be at a bigger company, but I knew they were a start-up going in and wouldn’t be able to match that. That being said, the skills I’ve learned can let me earn 10x in my later career than I would otherwise, so I’m more than happy with the trade off! As a start-up there can sometimes be some late hours if an emergency occurs, but as I like my work and this doesn't happen all the time I don't find it to be much of an issue.
