Locaweb wants to feel like Google so when it comes to food, free beverages, video games and other amenities it has got it all. People are young and talented and have energy that you usually don't see in medium/large companies. Lots of people that love what they do (they offer decent pay so that might explain it). Foreign investments mean cash is not a problem.
Minpunten
Founders have promoted technical-oriented people to management and they lack the skills. The company also ignores bullies and let egos run high. Founders like to let people fight over ideas and the best one wins. Reality is whoever speaks louder or has an alpha-male attitude dictitates what happens. There is too much guess work as performance is not measured. Very informal environment that doesn't not account for wasted resources, failed projects, etc.
