Pluspunten
- big company
- brand-name effect
- accepts interns of all years
I actually really enjoyed my experience and what I learnt. the environment is lax, yet employees are willing to help you learn. Part of the attractiveness of working in a big company is that their internship programs will be more established, and MTR delivered just that. My project experience was satisfying, and there was a strong sense of letting interns take ownership over their projects.
Minpunten
- bureaucratic
- slow pace, stagnant (my manager had to wait 10 years for his promotion)
- mean age is 35+
MTR has a monopoly over the metro services in Hong Kong. As such, there isn't a sense of always being better and better, but rather just keep doing what they have been doing all this time. As an intern, I found it hard to introduce new concepts, software and tools to the company.
