Minpunten
Terrible and incompetent management! If you plan on working at Menards, get used to being treat like crap and being depressed. Hard workers are not appreciated and managers would rather watch the weaker team members struggle that give a helping hand. This place is honestly the worst place I've ever worked. The pay is way below national average for forklift drivers ($9 per hour), Osha violations galore, useless managers who are a waste of pay role. Raises are a joke (10 cent raises MAX) every 6 months and part-timers max at $10 per hr. While unloading 2 trucks simultaneously, and more trucks in the yard, I actually had two managers sitting at the desk and just staring at me. When they are not at the desk and doing nothing, they are wondering the store (out of their department) and socializing with other workers. Somehow for a company that cares about nothing about money, it seems like that is a good investment instead of giving another hardworking team member a full time position. This crap happens all the time and because of this, the turn over rate has been extremely high, even in this economy. The gm's are arrogant and just walk around with clipboards and have no practical business or basic law sense. If you say good morning, they will ignore you. On one occasion, I was actually told by a GM to dump pesticides down the drain (I refused and luckily didn't get written up). Also a manager threatening a worker that if the don't get so-and-so task done, they wont be able to take a lunch (that is against state law) wasn't uncommon. Broken dock plates that caused two injuries have not been repaired since and its been over a year. Customer service is a joke, I've actually been yelled at by a manager for putting minors tasks aside to help customers. All and all this is the Walmart of home improvement and I would go so far as to say that Menards is much worse than Walmart. I will never even set foot in a Menards again.
