You're at the mercy of your clients. * Hard work is not necessarily rewarded and very often not even recognized. * Very high turnover at lower levels, so not many senior staff who worked their way through the ranks at Mercer. * Mercer focuses on the short term and loses opportunities to groom very good people into great consultants.
