As has been pointed out by others, be cautious of any review above 3 stars as it probably is either fake, written by management, or written by employees who have not worked at any other company in the US. This is a company to work at if you do not know any better. Good people leave as fast as they could. Very few paid holidays. In addition, if you are late the day before or after a holiday you will be deducted your holiday pay by the time you are late. If you are absent the day before or after a holiday you will not get paid the holiday at all. This applies to both hourly and salary employees. Benefits are not good at all. Company pays very little towards medical, dental and vision. Salaries are low and there are no raises. You have 6 sick days a year but better have a good reason to use them otherwise it will be frowned upon. You are expected to come in to work no matter what. During Super Storm Sandy when the whole city was shut down for two days (Monday & Tuesday), the company was closed however, Mr. Kaylie decided to change the work week that week to Wednesday thru Sunday meaning you were expected to come in to work Saturday and Sunday and if you didn't an explanation was required like if we were back in grade school and needed a note from your parents for missing a day. Managers are constantly heard screaming and cursing thru out the floor. Very unprofessional. Even for salaried non manufacturing employees, you must clock in and clock out and if you happen to be late by one minute you are considered late by 15 and docked that time. Their technology infrastructure is ancient. Email system is always going down, there are always server issues, and until recently they use decades old computer software (Pegasus Email, Windows XP). People are afraid to speak up for fear of getting fired. Communication is only one way. There is no career growth. Employe morale is very low. Management does not trust employees for nothing.

I never understood people who come on sites like these and complain about money – if the offered salary is low, don’t take the job. For me, I was very well compensated at the very top of what I was going to ask during negotiations. In 2024/25, the company did very well and that also reflected in our bonuses which were very generous (by far highest I ever received in any place I worked). As a hiring manager, when the time came to discuss salaries, no one ever came to me and told me to keep it low, the salaries to potential employees were very compatible with the job market. Mini-Circuits is not a public company so the results are what the management told us but they would not be paying out a lot of money if the company was in trouble. The CEO is still relatively new (less than 2 years) so has some work to do in changing the culture. For some naysayers on this site, if the company was so bad as being described, you would not have people work there for 10, 20, or more years as many have. With a stay that long, some people are set in their way so change is not easy. From what I heard, all of the CEO’s efforts are well received by the board and senior management. The information on this site needs to be changed since Ted Heil is not the CEO anymore as of 2024. When I researched this company prior to joining, there were a lot of comments on this site that managers are screaming at employees and for that reason I was reluctant to accept. Once there, I have to say that people are very friendly and I never saw or heard anyone screaming at another person. The only screaming I ever heard was at Neptune Ave when people playing ping pong took the game too seriously. Mini-Circuits is also very diverse with people from many cultures and countries working at its locations. I am giving Mini-Circuits 5 stars not because it is anything special, it is a job. If everything was running smoothly, we would not be needed. We need to go in and try to fix and improve and my manager’s door was always open and so was mine to anyone on my team. People just need to be willing to address change and not get discouraged if something is not accepted – it not always will be especially when people go to the manager to say something is broken but don’t have any suggestions on how to fix it. I have worked for much worse places but not many better. The staff is exceedingly friendly (particularly the front desk at Neptune) and people make you feel like they are there to help. There are plenty of learning opportunities for those who want it.

Minpunten

For the life of me I don’t understand the move to Melville. It will cost so many good people who are going to leave since the company is moving the headquarters to a location with no public transportation. For anyone interested in joining the company, ask during the interview if your position will be moved or its permanent location.
