In 2026, a new micromanagement system was implemented to track emails, calls, daily schedules, and individual activity, making employees feel monitored rather than trusted to perform their jobs. Weekly global sales reports are being used less as a tool for transparency and more as a pressure mechanism to push additional sales. At the same time, software licensing has been repackaged as SaaS, creating the appearance of strategic innovation while other teams are left dealing with the consequences of prior infringement-related sales issues and damaged customer relationships. Sales reps face significantly reduced earnings in 2026, a complicated compensation plan, and stagnant salaries. The result is a toxic combination of increased scrutiny, lower pay, damaged customer relationships, and declining morale. Instead of supporting the people responsible for revenue, leadership is adding pressure, complexity, and control while offering little in return. The current approach is short-sighted and damaging.
