Corporate strategy was not competitive in the 3GPP marketplace - lack of investment in R&D meant a struggling battle of "doing a lot more with a lot less" which could not compete against other manufacturers - the last 5+ years has been a case of bolstering the company's cash position to spin off sub divisions.
