Pluspunten
I was paid a fair market wage, with a generous benefits package including PTO. There also were some REALLY great people working there that are the reason I stayed as long as I did despite the cons.
Minpunten
My experience with NV5 was not the best, and I realize a lot of that was a combination of factors all culminating into one big mess. The person who was to train me how to do the job turned in their two week notice the same week I started, so I was expected to do their job and my own until a replacement could be found (which occurred all in the last quarter of 2021). The person who I was told to reach out to with questions was never in the office (she worked from home) and would occasionally deign to respond to my emails begging for help and guidance but would make sure to make me feel stupid for asking questions and not knowing the answers immediately. The replacement we were hiring to fill the other role I had taken on was lackluster to say the least, by the time I left, she still was asking me questions that I had answered 9 months ago, and I was doing half of her job. My office in particular had upper level management fleeing in droves once their non-competes were up, and NV5 decided to send in upper management from their CA offices to assure us "nothing would change" and that everything was okay. I left shortly after because I saw the writing on the wall for our particular office.
