Great people, who are skilled, creative and dedicated to good work. Small enough to feel your personal impact. Incredibly scrappy individuals and teams who wear multiple hats and work with limited resources in creative and impactful ways. Fantastic data team with excellent access to all forms of data for decision making. This had its pros and cons.
Minpunten
Marketplaces are hard, and this industry is hard. There seems to be a scarcity mentality and lack of trust from certain leaders. In their push to build more, faster, they don't empower their teams, they actually diminish their people and outcomes. Often a lack of business strategy focus. This somewhat improved over time but the company frequently fell prey to the current urgent or shiny project for the month. I felt like I experienced "bait and switch" from the vision I was sold to the actual business model. Leadership has immature views on what motivates people and have been pushing people to work harder, longer without improving benefits or showing they care about their employees. A culture shift to more "intensity" in the last year has led to employee burnout that managers ignore. They have very poor definitions on their performance expectations and don't provide opportunities for additional job or skill development.
