Minpunten

Where to begin? It's a shame that this company has such poor upper management, especially at the Head Office level, as the product itself is very good and very easy to get behind. This company has so much potential! ... that they continuously waste, in almost every single way. - This company does not value their employees. Every employee, at least at the retail level, is simply a number. For a company that claims pride on delivering 'exceptional customer service,' they sure do treat their employees with as little humanity and compassion as legally possible. It's hypocritical to expect employees to care about their customers and the job, when they can't fathom those in upper management caring about them. - Though I have no experience working in the Head Office atmosphere, the few employees there who are genuinely FANTASTIC employees and that I know quite well, hate their lives. I would constantly hear about how negative the atmosphere at Head Office was. Countless numbers of employees ended up on sick leave and ultimately leaving the company because the stress and negativity was too much for them. - Be prepared for an extreme amount of false hope. Think they're going to fix issues in marketing or operations with great expediency? Nope. Think you'll get support from Head Office in a timely manner? Absolutely not. Have big dreams of moving up in the company? You better find a new path. - Considering Nespresso plasters Nestle's "hire to retire" slogan all over their HR material, this is a company that sure loves to hire externally. Time and time again, GOOD, honest, hard-working people are passed over for promotion because they're not part of a VERY obvious "favourites list" that everyone in upper management seems to adhere to. This company loses it's best people at an alarming rate because they refuse to give employees the proper chance or avenue to develop. - On the other side of things, there are people in management positions and who work at Head Office who somehow manage to keep their positions, no matter how many times they prove themselves to be useless at their jobs. It is incredibly frustrating to witness the incompetency of some people in this company, and even more offensive to know that they get paid more than you for it! - If you find yourself working for this company, do yourself a favour and weasel your way on to that "favourites list" as soon as possible. How do you do that? Just agree to everything upper management tells you; no matter how asinine or illogical a policy or procedure seems, and no matter if you have a valid opinion or suggestion to make something better, your opinion does not matter, and your independent thought will not be valued. This company is looking for people who only know how to say "yes." While they may ask you for feedback or thoughts, don't be fooled - they don't actually want to hear it. - Also if you find yourself in the unfortunate circumstance of working for this company, try your best to avoid dealing with HR. Everyone in that department will try their very best to make you talk to anyone else BUT them. You will be passed off to several different people, all claiming "it's not my job, talk to this person," until someone is finally tasked with handling your issue. And believe me, you will ALWAYS be made to feel like you're inconveniencing them, no matter how serious the issue is. Not only that, don't expect any sort of empathy from HR - there is an exorbitant amount of victim-blaming, to the point where it's borderline unethical for these people in HR to even keep their jobs. - The bonus structure is abysmal, and embarrassing in comparison to other retail operations. It makes sense that Nespresso can boast billion dollar profits, because that money is certainly not going to their employees.
