-Some business trips were fun -Sometimes we had interesting company outings -Because the company was small you got contact with senior leadership of mostly medium sized hospitals (often in undesirable locations) in neuroscience or oncology.
Minpunten
-This company was "restructured" by people who have the same mentality of the company that failed and systemically the problems still prevail. Consulting is tough in any field but this firm is a supposed to be a small niche firm focused on neuroscience. It has branched out into Oncology and has no clue what it's strategic direction is and I believe it shows in client work. -Terrible working hours -Terrible treatment of analysts (analyst slave mentality) -Terrible and incompetent management -Terrible project management (projects were frequently over analyzed and under strategized even though this is supposed to be a strategy consulting firm) -Terrible cash flow (company probably won't be around long) -Terrible virtual set up where colleagues never come back to a central office and are contracted, not hired under the business itself -Partners have no idea how to create a team environment that allows for strong collaboration and multiple paths to get to one goal. They have a "my way or the highway" approach -You will not learn how to be an analyst and instead will be a glorified administrative assistant including buying office supplies and trying to make printers work correctly -There was hardly any work to go around and the very detail oriented partners found randoms things for people to do that was not neccessary -Worst of all your salary will be TERRIBLE. The partners are extremely cheap and do not care about keeping analysts. They want to pay you terribly, burn you out, and move on.
