As someone fresh out of college, this was my first corporate job and honestly, it was a nightmare from day one. It’s a mystery how this company has been around for 25 years. The entire operation is controlled by one man and his right-hand person, neither of whom are approachable, professional, or remotely respectful. There was no proper training or support and asking questions about job expectations was met with intimidation or passive-aggressive remarks. The workplace culture was built on fear with daily phone calls where staff were openly called incompetent, lazy, untrustworthy and constantly reminded that they could be fired at any moment. They regularly sent inexperienced employees out to manage high-pressure projects without proper preparation and if things didn’t go perfectly, you could expect public humiliation. On top of that, we were expected to tolerate unacceptable situations, including dealing with individuals under the influence and being asked to participate in questionable, unethical activities. This company is deeply toxic and completely lacks basic people management skills. The owner has no idea how to lead, build a positive culture or treat people with dignity. For anyone considering this as their first corporate experience - don’t. This company doesn’t care about its employees and it will drain your energy, confidence, and well-being. Stay far away.
