Pluspunten
The pay is really low. So once you've finally had enough it should be pretty easy to find a job that pays better.
Minpunten
- Woefully mismanaged. Management is constantly running in circles. They aren't making any progress but they sure do look busy. - Extremely cheap. Anything and everything is done by the lowest bidder, all to the detriment of the employees and even the company. Examples include the mostly India-based IT staff and offshore manufacturing. - No policies, procedures, or regulation. This has gotten OSI and it's subsidiaries (Rapsican and Spacelabs) into trouble with the government on more than on occasion. Easily verifiable with a simple Google search. - Things are done so inefficiently it is frustrating. Company is completely adverse to change regardless of logic and reasoning. You have no voice, just do what you are told how you are told. - Job titles and job descriptions are meaningless. Your job is whatever your boss tells you to do. - Benefits and pay are a joke. Even if you manage to negotiate your way up to a decent salary it won't matter because... see above... your job is whatever they tell you to do. They will get their pound of meat out of you no matter what. - OSI stands for Optical Systems of India, though they try not to mention that too much. The work culture in India is much different than in the US and while I'm sure it's worse for the poor souls actually working in India it does come through to an extent here as well. Basically put - they do not care about you, you are just a seat filler, and there are plenty of butts out there. You have 0 job security. - CEO Deepak Chopra (not THAT Deepak Chopra) is known as being a tyrannical leader who publicly threatens and humiliates his employees. If you are thinking of working here please don't. You are worth more than this.
