Reactie van One Acre Fund
7yThank you for taking the time to share this feedback. I am very sorry to hear that your experience didn’t reflect our values. To be very clear, we are deeply committed to equity and to creating a great workplace where *all* staff can grow and thrive.
I firstly want to acknowledge that until a few years ago, One Acre Fund was not strong at reaching out to the highest-level African talent markets, for hiring senior roles. This is something we openly acknowledge (https://oneacrefund.org/about-us/our-leadership/). We are working hard to correct this: in 2018, 26 of our 30 external hires for management positions in Africa were African nationals; additionally, 7 in 9 of our most senior hires in Africa (managers and directors) were African nationals (https://oneacrefund.org/blog/how-we-hire-one-acre-fund/).
I also wish to address some misperceptions:
• Job opportunities for local staff. All roles are open to African staff, and we are prioritizing attracting African talent at all levels. In fact, many of our current openings, including specialized and senior roles, are only open to African staff (https://oneacrefund.org/work-with-us/job-openings/).
• Compensation. We have a single salary package for each level of role. So everyone in the same job level and location, regardless of nationality, earns the same pay.
• We don’t have “expat” roles. Some roles at One Acre Fund are open to candidates of any nationality. However in every one of these roles, we strongly prefer to hire African nationals.
Again, thank you for your feedback, and best of luck to you in your new role.
