Minpunten
This is a pyramid scheme. They hire all employees at the same level (sales) with the intention of promoting them through the ranks (sales to corporate trainer to lower management to upper management), and there is no base salary. Full time is Monday-Friday, 9:30am-8:30pm, and Saturday, 9am-5pm. That's over 60 hours a week with no guarantee of even making minimum wage. Until you get to upper management, most of your time is spent outside of the office trying to sell XFinity to people, be it cable, internet, phone or home security. It is 100% commission based, so if you don't sell anything, you make no money. Once you do sell something, XFinity pays the company a stipend (which varies depending on what you sell), but you don't receive the entire sum. For example, if you sell one security package in a day, XFinity pays the company $110. You only keep $70, because the other $40 goes to the managers. So, if there are 10 employees in the field, and the each sell one security package that day, each employee makes $70, but the manager makes $400. If that's all you sell in a day, you work 11 hours to make only $70, which is less than $7/hour. Minimum wage in the city of Chicago is $11.50/hour. To summarize, the company exploits its employees. They try to talk themselves up by emphasizing the opportunity for your personal growth within the company and the growth of the company itself, but that's only because the more employees there are in the field (as they call it), the more money there is in the pockets of the managers.
