The pay scale is fair and working remote is quite beneficial for most employees.

Minpunten

The company has been on a downward spiral for the past 12 months after handing down series of RIFs, with the latest one being within the last few weeks. This does not even account for the many who have resigned. If you look at their careers sections, there are no more than 3 total openings company wide, and all of them are for the same position in Raleigh. At one point, there was optimism about the changes that were happening with regards to the management structure and the road map. However, it is still evident that there is still an inner circle/favoritism occurring with certain managers. This select group continues to be a detriment to employee moral and to customers satisfaction. These managers have been responsible for outing more than several quality key employees and managers who genuinely contributed to the overall company, employee and customer satisfaction. I believe that Optanix is currently in a bad state since the people who made this company successful are no longer there. It seems the current management is doing just about enough to get it to a point of spinning it off. Sadly the hard working employees are the ones mostly affected, yet the C level continues to grow.

I certainly value your perspective and opinion regarding the past 12 months. That being said, I have a different view. Optanix is a company undergoing transformation. And transformation can sometimes be hard. We are changing from a narrowly focused managed service provider to a full-service software provider. The skill sets (and frankly, attitude) we require to do this are not the same ones the company needed ten years ago. To that end, Optanix is keeping the very best of our existing team focused on our core business, while at the same time expanding in strategic areas. Those unable to step up or evolve are probably not at the right company. We actually do have openings across development, sales, operations and product management. In fact, we have promoted 9 managers from within the company over the past year and our sales team coverage by 200+% year over year. We have also returned product management and marketing to traditional levels. It’s worth noting that the number of C-level employees has not changed since the inception of Optanix. We have however, brought in best-in-class leadership across key functions in development, HR, marketing, sales, and product management that know the industry very well and know how to execute. The market is changing, and we have an awesome opportunity to leverage our capability in large complex environments such as Contact Centers and Unified Communications and apply that on a much larger scale in adjacent markets and modernize for today’s cloud enabled world. Hanging onto the past is not a recipe for future success – especially in technology. I am truly sorry that Optanix did not work out for you, or for the others you mentioned that didn’t stay on to see the transformation completed. We are making progress. The “new Optanix” just celebrated one of the most successful quarters in years. We are on track to release more versions of the product in the next year than in the past five years. In the prior quarter, we beat every financial goal, increased our development velocity by 300% from just 6 months ago, and our new bookings pipeline is 2x any other point in the history of our company. Everyone leaves a "Bad" review after they leave a place and I think a lot of people forget the great things they observed when working at their previous company. Optanix was an incredible place to collaborate with some excellent individuals while developing really interesting tools and providing an excellent level of service to an interesting and diverse customer base. Unfortunately, Optanix has devolved into a charade of chaos, deception, ambiguity, oppression, and stress. Employees who were once "A" tier contributors are being over worked to the point where they are barely delivering 10% of their previous output. The culture demands a 24/7 accessibility that completely disrupts any semblance of a work/life balance. Engineers are being mandated for double shifts and being forced to work weekend/night shifts despite seniority due to a diminishing workforce. Meanwhile, Executive Management blames their lack of hiring on "bad reviews" on company review sites. Its gone as far as the company pandering to new hire employees practically begging for good reviews to raise their rating. It's SUPER obvious which reviews these are and is an embarrassment to the employees that remain there.
