Put simply, this is a driving job for people who like driving over the road to different cities within the state, sometimes to nearby states, and having the opportunity to meet and assist some of the hardest working people in America, while making a modest income at the same time. Periodic pay raises and bonuses are awarded to those who maintain a clean record. Great for young people with a good driving record, just starting out in the job market. It's also great for mature adults who want a change from four walls and the same old routine, or those who just want to supplement their income. Company vehicles are provided for on the job use.
Minpunten
The hours vary, as this is an on-call operation. The drivers must make themselves and their own telephone/cellphone service available as the need arises for transportation. Department of Transportation regulations apply in all circumstances, and daily travel records must be in order at all times in the event an inspection is required. Pay is based on mileage and wait time only, not hourly. Vehicles must be cleaned, fueled, and inspected daily as part of the drivers' responsibilities, although gas, oil, tires, and repairs are provided by the company. The drivers are not considered "on the clock" for these activities and do not receive pay for these duties. Any accidents or incidents will be investigated thoroughly, at which time the driver and/or vehicle may or may not be taken out of service until the investigation is complete.
