Step away from the pretty paper and books because what’s behind them is nothing but complete and total disability discrimination from day 1. Paper Source is owned by Barnes & Noble, and since being acquired by their new parent, Paper Source has taken on the Barnes & Noble style of authoritarian, disciplinary, non-leadership approach to leadership. The cost of your emotional labor is more than what the job pays. Also, very archaic method of on-paper record keeping rather than digital files. I got accused of theft from the company because I forwarded a work email about me to my personal email so I could clock out on time and review it at home, but as far as paper records, I can make copies and walk out with anything I wanted, visibly, and not be questioned. I don’t know why. I mean, we all know why, but I don’t know why “officially”. I was fired on the basis of uncontested disability discrimination. They fired me at the holidays and put a clock on the severance so I wouldn’t have time to get a lawyer once everyone was back from break.
