This company destroyed my health. I worked here for over 7 years, and I didn’t even realize how much I had lost myself until leaving. You are required to work yourself dry. You’re often so busy you don’t even have time to get up to go to the bathroom. There is zero flexibility for you to live your life or get things done. For example, your house is flooding because a pipe burst so you have to come into work a little late? No sympathy from leadership. Their response will be to go ahead and put in PTO for that because your leader is scared of getting called out about the badge reports. Additionally with client projects in implementation, there’s also so much that’s out of the TSR departments control and yet the TSR’s are blamed for the project not going well, or the client moving their check date. The truth is that the client is moving their check date because the expectations of workload Paycom has for clients in implementation is absolutely insane. Also the wrong expectations are sold to them in the sales process that we can do anything and automate all their processes. Which we can’t. Most automation processes require a converter and clients don’t want to run a converter every day. Then if anything happens that goes wrong that’s completely out of our control, we get written up. Also, if you don’t document your work in 5 different ways, you get written up. Leaders don’t know how to manage their employees, and then when they do step in instead of seeking to understand what happened they blame the employee without getting context. There is so much finger pointing and assuming the TSR is at fault and doing terrible at their job, it physically makes you sick. I unfortunately do not see Paycom making a comeback from the depths they have stooped to. I would recommend the board to get rid of the CEO asap if they want to keep any of their good people. Paycom needs a leader that understands their employees are human, not robots, and have lives outside of work. They will probably also respond to this and say something about their values and that I can reach out to submit feedback, but I have done this so many times before quitting that I know it’s useless. Nothing changes and leadership does not listen. Do not work here. Do not be tempted by the salary. I promise it’s not worth it.

Our environment demands hard work, and we hold high expectations for our team members. That level of commitment isn't for everyone. Regardless of role, teams are expected to collaborate and support one another to deliver on our mission, and leaders are expected to provide resources for success and lead with clarity and context. We continue to acknowledge and act on employee feedback when appropriate, and our team can be reached at hrmgmt@paycomonline.com for further discussion.

Pluspunten

* Fast learning and professional skill growth. * Great people and strong teams. * Recognized name in the OKC community. * Valuable experience that strengthens future career opportunities, especially in Tech.

Minpunten

Over the past couple of years, career growth has felt extremely limited. Promotions and meaningful raises have become increasingly rare, and many employees believe these decisions are being driven from the very top. Layoffs and terminations have also become common, creating a constant sense of uncertainty. High performers often take on high-visibility projects with aggressive timelines and limited support. The expectations are unrealistic, and even successful delivery doesn’t usually lead to recognition or advancement. Leadership tends to make decisions very late, creating unnecessary urgency and forcing teams into last-minute scrambles. Benefits have declined, opportunities for advancement have become scarce, and overall morale has suffered significantly. There are talented people here and it can be a good place to gain experience, but I would view it primarily as a stepping stone rather than a long-term destination.
