Pluspunten

The compensation is decent if you can get through the first year or so and the benefits are pretty good. Paycom's HR platform is one of the best I've experience in my career. I met some very talented and amazing people.

Minpunten

There is SO much wasted talent. They have managed to hire some very bright people, but management doesn't listen to new ideas or promote the people that actually deserve it. Instead, the very young and inexperienced managers and supervisors (many of whom Paycom has been their only job after college) tend to reward and promote people who stroke their ego the most. I’ve seen many people in the company passed up on a promotion over an inexperienced, young, peppy cheerleader for Paycom, but had no clue what they were doing when they were promoted to their new role. If you have an idea about how a process could be improved, give any kind of constructive feedback, or even tell your superior that you’re stressed, you can kiss any chance of a promotion goodbye because you're now labeled as a troublemaker and can’t handle the job. Instead of a promotion, you can expect unwarranted write-ups. Recently management implemented a new policy of having all customer issues resolved within 10 minutes. This was a drastic change in policy from the years I had been there. If they truly believe their employees are physically able to meet that standard on top of the insane work load they already have, management is even more detached from reality than I thought. Many of their employees are near their breaking point and it’s not uncommon for people to just get up, walk out, and never come back. Apparently they have no problem with firing multiple people (who were great workers and had been there for years) in one day when they don’t live up to their unreasonable expectations.

We agree that we hire great talent at Paycom, but we disagree that such talent is wasted at the organization. Additionally, feedback is important at Paycom, and all employees are encouraged to share constructive feedback with their supervisors and HR. We even established a third-party hotline so employees feel more comfortable giving hard feedback. Regarding service times, we’re committed to both continuous improvement and supporting our clients. As business demands require Paycom to evolve, we will do so and our employees and clients are our top priority. Paycom is actively listening to employees and gathering feedback to communicate to the management team, including yours.

Minpunten

Over the past couple of years, career growth has felt extremely limited. Promotions and meaningful raises have become increasingly rare, and many employees believe these decisions are being driven from the very top. Layoffs and terminations have also become common, creating a constant sense of uncertainty. High performers often take on high-visibility projects with aggressive timelines and limited support. The expectations are unrealistic, and even successful delivery doesn’t usually lead to recognition or advancement. Leadership tends to make decisions very late, creating unnecessary urgency and forcing teams into last-minute scrambles. Benefits have declined, opportunities for advancement have become scarce, and overall morale has suffered significantly. There are talented people here and it can be a good place to gain experience, but I would view it primarily as a stepping stone rather than a long-term destination.
