Pluspunten

The paycheck was on time. Literally, that is the only positive thing I can say about this experience. If you are looking for anything else—growth, respect, or a sense of purpose—look elsewhere.

Minpunten

Financial Embarrassment - It is insulting to watch leadership spend millions on flashy team meetings and corporate vanity projects, only to turn around and lay off the very employees who keep the lights on. Favoritism - This company does not run on merit; it runs on favoritism. If you aren't one of the hand-picked favorites, you will never be appreciated or respected. You are essentially a ghost in the machine, expected to do the heavy lifting while the "favorites" get the accolades. Culture - The environment is suffocating. Management from the top down has zero interest in the needs or well-being of their teams. There is a total lack of empathy and a complete refusal to listen when employees ask for help or resources. Work-Life Balance - Management views "work-life balance" as a myth. They expect total devotion but offer zero flexibility or support in return. Compensation - The compensation is significantly below market rate for the level of stress and the volume of work expected.

Pluspunten

Inflated base salary in comparison to other sales roles, but no commission or bonus opportunities. Equity is awarded, typically on a vesting schedule of about 4 years (but keep in mind no 401k match). Stipend for home office equipment, gym membership and phone. Experience with large well known clients is a perk. Cross functional teams who know the product are extremely intelligent, data driven, and great to work with.

Minpunten

Mandatory outings and offsites, specifically on the client experience team, can be extremely demanding. Very high turnover of those who don't "fit" the team culture, or pose an issue for the status quo. Although this is a remote role, very much emphasis is put on getting in front of clients regularly, even if the client has set boundaries around "office drop ins." How often you are able to see your client is a personal performance metric, which can feel meaningless and forced if there is no real business need. Overstepping boundaries is encouraged here. Too often the worlds of personal and professional were blurred. I experienced many instances that made myself and those around me uncomfortable. To my knowledge, very few of those were taken seriously. To be successful here, you will need to go above and beyond. Prioritizing yourself outside of the workplace is not really an option from what I had witnessed or experienced.

Thank you for sharing your experience and for your more than three years with Phreesia. It’s good to hear you had a positive experience with your colleagues and felt the compensation and benefits were strong. We’re sorry to hear that you felt uncomfortable at any time at work. That’s not the experience we want for any of our teams. Clear expectations around workload and scheduling may vary by role, but they should always be defined and communicated. We appreciate your feedback and wish you continued success in your career.
