Pluspunten

Smart and friendly colleagues who care about results and quality. Interesting problems to solve; steep learning curve. Great knowledge-wise if you want to get into fintech Good perks (private health cover, 5-day wedding allowance PTO, training budget).

Minpunten

The switch to 2 mandatory office days has marked a shift from a modern startup to a corporate control-heavy environment. Leadership frames it as a move toward “structure” and “collaboration,” but in reality it’s removed flexibility and increased stress. My manager is not even in the same country as I am... so what's the point of in-office team bonding? They claim we're focusing on profitability, but they seem to ignore the real costs: attrition vs. rehiring, rising office utilities and bills. We barely had coffee last time... The company’s recent internal communication around the RTO policy has highlighted a growing disconnect between leadership understanding and employee reality. Management attributes the dissatisfaction to employees simply needing “time to bed in” rather than acknowledging the genuine disruption and loss of flexibility and autonomy many are experiencing. Despite repeated concerns from the people, the policy continues to be described as “working well” though no clear metrics or outcomes have ever been shared to support that claim. The company insists the RTO framework isn’t about removing flexibility, yet attendance is mandatory and personal circumstances are rarely taken into account (with a few exceptions, thank God). Internal communication around the change has been PR-heavy, focused on diplomacy rather than how it’s affecting morale, mental health, or work–life balance. Employees are also subtly discouraged from sharing feedback externally, being reminded to raise concerns internally instead. Mayyyyybe we already have shared these concerns internally but we haven't been heard? Finally, they've mentioned that “nothing has changed for many” which completely ignores those who built their routines, housing, and family life around the flexibility that was previously offered. If nothing has changed for most, it’s unclear why the enforcement was needed at all. Meanwhile, energy continues to go into meaningless changes rather than improving product quality or customer experience. Support operations increasingly resemble a call-centre model, career growth and recognition are inconsistent, and morale remains low as people grow afraid to speak up for fear of layoffs or retaliation. No focus on long-term value (for both customers and employees) whatsoever

Hi there, Thank you for your detailed and considered feedback. We’re delighted that you enjoy working with your colleagues and find the work interesting and impactful. We hear your feedback on our hybrid working policy. We currently expect all employees to be in the office one specific day a week, plus one more day of the employee’s choice. Precisely because our team is split across three locations, regular face-to-face meetings are essential to build trust. Even if your direct manager is not based in your location, it’s important to interact with other team members so we can all take part in building Plum’s culture. Please do share your feedback on this in our regular Employee Pulse survey, or alternatively chat with your People Ops partner to see if we can make our hybrid working policy work better for you. Best wishes, Team Plum

Minpunten

Don’t be misled by the 5-star reviews, many of them are not genuine and they come from the company’s HR This company used to be a good place to work, but over the past year, things have gone downhill quickly. Senior leadership, including the VPs and many managers, seem more focused on their own salaries and résumés than on supporting employees and help the company grow. As a result, morale is low, salaries are uncompetitive, and with the recent shift from remote work to a hybrid policy, work-life balance has suffered even further. Yes, our contracts are hybrid, but until recently the company was very flexible, and most employees could work from home. That changed simply because the CEO visited the London office one day and found it empty. But it’s your people who built this company, why not respect them? Instead, you’re forcing us to unnecessary commute, spend more money, and take on extra stress, all while the company continues to grow. Why? Also, your offices are small, they cannot accommodate all. To summarize; - The salaries are low and not competitive - Most people are overworked burned out - 2 days mandatory work from the office - The VP's are bad and they do not care about the people nor the product - Think twice before joining Plum, you can do better.

Hi there, Thanks for your detailed feedback, it’s always valuable to us! Firstly, we’d like to clarify that it’s simply not possible for all positive reviews to come from our HR team. As per Glassdoor’s guidelines, each individual can only submit one review per employer. We’re sorry to hear that you feel this way about our leadership team. It has evolved over time and been recently strengthened with highly experienced VPs joining from some of the top financial services companies, reflecting the growth and potential of Plum, with operational profitability within touching distance. They are fully committed to driving both company growth and employee development. On compensation, please rest assured that we remain committed to offering fair and competitive pay, aligned with market standards. A salary benchmarking exercise is conducted twice a year, using multiple trusted data resources. Finally,, Plum has always operated as a hybrid company, not a fully remote one. While we truly value in-person interaction, we also understand that some people might be more productive when working from home, which is why we’ve maintained flexibility for up to three remote working days per week. So colleagues can still spend the majority of their week working from home, and get the best of both worlds. We deeply value our people and their satisfaction. However, at the same time, we’re fully committed to hybrid working given its benefits for collaboration, creativity and problem solving. The specific policy is working well and largely delivering on our expectations about closer collaboration so far. We’re always open to direct feedback and encourage you to continue sharing your thoughts, either via your manager, your People Ops Partner or other forums (surveys, leadership AMA etc). Best wishes, Team Plum
