It offers you the opportunity for a different teaching style than students and CFYs. You are able to offer suggestions and further the knowledge of the clinicians you practice with every day on topics they may not know about. Conversely, you also gain knowledge in areas you may be weaker in as none of us are true experts in it all. You are also afforded extra money towards attending a national convention or other CEU course outside of Medbridge. You also have the opportunity to mentor other therapists (seasoned or brand new) in other states across the USA in techniques/treatments of diagnoses they are not familiar with.

It would be nice for there to be a bonus of some kind depending on how much time you are mentoring, etc as this does take away from your productivity, which is then a bad reflection on the therapist. It's also adding something more to your job than what you were originally hired for. It would also be nice if days that you are mentoring did not impact your productivity. Depending on how much time you spend mentoring, your time should be billed to the facility that you are helping so it doesn't impact your productivity in your building. However, then overtime should be an option to cover the caseload if you're willing to work over.

Fifteen years ago, I joined this Rehabilitation company looking for more than just a job-I was looking for a place where I could make a meaningful difference. What I found was an organization whose mission aligned with my own values; helping people regain confidence, independence, dignity, and hope, during some of the most challenging times in their lives. From my very first day, I realized this was more than a workplace. It was a community of compassionate professionals united by a common purpose-supporting and guiding patients to achieve goals that they may have thought were out of reach.
