You are not a consultant. You are not a researcher. You are a Linkedin message spammer. Let me break it down for any person asking themselves what your role actually consists off: A firm has a project focused on a very detailed topic and need to interview experts on that given topic. These firms don't have time to waste so they'll be wasting yours to find these experts. You juggle 8 to 10 projects simultaneously everyday. You'll be evaluated on how many successful calls you set up between a client and an expert you sourced on Linkedin. And if you don't set up enough calls, they'll be looking at how many hundreds (sometimes thousands) of linkedin messages you have sent per day. You do not learn anything. Except how to talk to 60 yo men who are important in their industry. Prosapient pays significantly lower than their competitors like Aphasights, Thirdbridge and GLG. It's a white boys club. Many cases of intimidation, sexual harassment and insults are reported on a frequent basis but very few times is HR going to do anything against them. The culture is toxic despite many colleagues being great people, but pushed to hate each other to get a 1k bonus at the end of the year. The reason I would discourage any grad to take on that role is that you do not learn ANYTHING regarding audit/PE/Finance etc. Nothing. You're a glorified recruiter (which can be fun if you're into recruitment, but not if you actually want to develop a skillset that will help you land great masters program in 2 years or transfer to another company later on). If you can afford to leave, do so and look for something that actually suits your career path, unless you love recruitment.
