Staff are mostly young and energetic and genuinely care about the product. The youthfulness of the company can be fun and alluring - but you can also have fun and play video games at work while still being professional - something that is overlooked at Procurify.

Things are very disorganized - ok, fine, "start up culture". Meetings were often scheduled but no one would show up without cancelling - sometimes multiple times a day. There is no sense of responsibility or accountability or respect for the time of your coworkers. Because most of the staff are very young and were friends with each other or knew each other before joining Procurify, they buy into typical start up platitudes about greatness from management but at the same allow themselves to be pushed beyond the limits of acceptable work environments or employment law while being underpaid for their skillset. A team once slept at the office on air mattresses working until 2am for nearly a week to meet a deadline that ended up getting pushed back anyways. If you try to take initiative to help organize things, or make suggestions, you are seen as stirring the pot and causing issues, or not embracing start up culture or the young vibe of the company. Complaints about things such as mouldy food on the kitchen counter left out for weeks were met with a shrug and "it's start up life". They say they want to "unlock the potential of every individual" and support all staff all the time but they fire people without warning based on internal gossip and not job performance. When they let staff go they take many weeks to issue final pay (should be issued in 48 hours), don't file ROEs, etc. and then try to claim that employees were contractors after the fact to get out of paying vacation pay. Saw lots of sexual harassment and they have the stance of "If you are the type of person to complain about this then you aren't a good fit for our culture" ... this included all three cofounders literally chasing female staff while drunk on a corporate retreat and trying to encourage them to engage in sexual acts. The internal joke is that their "HR Complaint Box" is a garbage can.
