Pluspunten
Friendly co-workers, always willing to help by offering advice & support, made me feel very welcome. Based in the centre of town, good location, also received an hour lunch break which was great. Positive atmosphere in the office, there's a lot of loud music being played which can be a bit distracting but there was generally a good vibe. Good salary and commission structure, a decent opportunity to make more money.
Minpunten
Minimal training, consisted of learning a pre-planned pitch and practicing it with the other new recruits. Never got the chance to listen in on a successful pitch/conversation (colleagues would walk around the office whilst speaking to potential clients which made listening in almost impossible), so jumping straight on the phone was a bit daunting. I was required to provide at least 50 new leads a day, all of which were essentially cold calls. Spent several hours at home in the evening sourcing leads (you can't do this during the working day) only to be told that what I had done was not good enough. Immense pressure. I was only there for a week and was berated by my line manager on my second day on the phone after failing to get past the first step of the pitch to any of the companies I had called (none of them were interested). They might have considered this as "hazing" or testing my ability to work under pressure but in my opinion this was unreasonable and made the working environment sour. Very hot in the office, most of the employees have had to bring in their own desk fans.
