Pluspunten

1) Accommodation is provided 2) You meet a great range of people and all have great personalities 3) On Mondays you start at 10 as opposed to 9 on other days 4) Social time on Fridays start at 4:30 till end of working day and there's a beer fridge 5) Have a lot of connections to high profile clients

Minpunten

1) When the recruiters called, they claimed that QA provide great training in niche, on demand technologies in the industry and I was sent a picture of all the training they provide. I explicitly asked if I would be trained in all of these things throughout training and they then confirmed it to be true....it wasn't! 2) When they call you they will say that in your 1st year you will receive a base rate of 15k and an additional 8k bonus OTE (23k) and then in your 2nd year you will receive an additional 5k bonus (28k).....WHAT THEY WONT TELL YOU is that there is a loooonggg list of requirements you have to fulfil before you can get that additional 5k and they only tell you once you come onto the client site. 3) THEY SELL YOU A DREAM...they give you a probationary period of 4 weeks of which you can quit without incurring the 12k fee which you would have to pay back if you quit afterward. Let me tell you this...The training will be top class for those 4 weeks and then after, there will be a steep drop. We stopped receiving training by the trainers because there weren't enough staff and therefore couldn't get help when we needed it, in essence, we went to QA academy to be trained by Google. 4) With regards to deciding the client you go to. They make it seem as if they have done a careful evaluation to see which client you are best fit for. They have not! All they care about is recruiting candidates to fill up open positions for their client. They don't care about your skills, how fit you are for that role or even your own personal preference. Everything is disregarded. And when you complain to argue your case of why you think you may be fit for a better role they will lie and give you a fake excuse as to why they have chosen you for that specific role. And it will all be positive just to butter you up. This happens to everyone and they just give different excuses, don't believe them, and don’t fall for the trap! 5) THIS IS IMPORTANT!! There is a rumour that flies around the academy that you get paid immediately after the 12 week period is up and there is another claims that it is a month after. I can confirm that you get paid a month after the 12 weeks is up. The reason people are unsure about this is because admin, recruiters and trainers say different things. I was told by one of the staff that it’s immediately after the 12 weeks was up and other people were told otherwise and nothing was found online. 6) After you leave the academy, you only receive your basic pay for the first month as this does not include the bonus. If you’re unlucky enough not to leave the academy after the 12 weeks are up because QA feel you are under trained or they have not got a client for you, then you will end up receiving the base rate pay for another 2 months and still be in the academy. The only benefit of this is that you will still be provided accommodation. The training isn't even worth staying longer. 7) Once they give you a date for you to be deployed, they will not allow you to look for accommodation until the week before, putting so much pressure on you to find a house as it is literally a ‘leave on Friday, start on Monday' kind of thing. They have no regard for their consultants and their situation, only what goes in their pockets. 8) Throughout the training they employed more people than their trainers could handle and ended up using all of the rooms within the building whilst moving us from room to room. No stability, at times no comfort and no coordination. Disgraceful! 9) DO NOT BELIEVE THEIR REPLIES TO OTHER COMMENTS ON GLASSDOOR, they are all lies and all of the responses are just recycled and used on other posts. Some aren't even relevant to the post made. They don't even have the decency to make personalized replies to show remorse for the poor service they have provided.

Thank you for your feedback. We’re genuinely sorry that you feel you have not had the best experience with us so far and would like to highlight some of the changes we have made recently to address the concerns you have raised. Regarding the training we provide: we identify opportunities for our future Consultants based on skills shortages that our clients are experiencing. This naturally means that our programme selection varies and expands over time and equally that as our Trainees emerge from the Academy they have acquired skills that are in high demand. Taking aside market demands, we make every effort to take account of individual preferences and provide opportunities for all our Consultants to specialise within a niche area after the initial training period. As a rapidly growing business we recognise the capacity issues you mention and with the recent addition of more Trainers and additional scheduling changes we are confident that the training experience we offer is of a high standard consistently throughout the duration of the standard 12-week period and enables many ambitious, STEM graduates to get a strong foothold in their chosen career. Consultants are paid monthly, in arrears, effective immediately after they transition from Trainee to employee status. We believe the reward package for our Consultants is market competitive. However, we do also continually review our practices in light of various feedback we receive and are currently considering alternatives to the package. Over time Consultants that have had QA Training and on-site delivery experience with us achieve extremely competitive packages or go on to earn way above industry averages. The role of a Consultant often requires a change in location and sometimes with limited notice. We always endeavour to provide the maximum notice possible to avoid unnecessary disruption and inconvenience and acknowledge that we aren’t always able to achieve this. We do whatever we can in these situations to support our Consultants as they relocate and will continue to do so. We would appreciate any suggestions to further assist with this. We do hope that this provides you with some peace of mind, and as ever we highly recommend that employees talk to someone internally (line manager, Consultant Liaison or Human Resources are all available) to help them get their needs addressed.

Pluspunten

The skills platform developed by the former Cloud Academy team was innovative and well-received by customers.

Minpunten

Since my voluntary departure, the company has proven to be unreliable and somewhat cagey. Under the terms of their articles of association and ISD, they had 12 months to repurchase my preferred shares. Nearly 18 months have passed, and they refuse to repurchase my shares or communicate any reasons for the delay. One might conclude that they are dealing with financial difficulties.
