1) When the recruiters called, they claimed that QA provide great training in niche, on demand technologies in the industry and I was sent a picture of all the training they provide. I explicitly asked if I would be trained in all of these things throughout training and they then confirmed it to be true....it wasn't!
2) When they call you they will say that in your 1st year you will receive a base rate of 15k and an additional 8k bonus OTE (23k) and then in your 2nd year you will receive an additional 5k bonus (28k).....WHAT THEY WONT TELL YOU is that there is a loooonggg list of requirements you have to fulfil before you can get that additional 5k and they only tell you once you come onto the client site.
3) THEY SELL YOU A DREAM...they give you a probationary period of 4 weeks of which you can quit without incurring the 12k fee which you would have to pay back if you quit afterward. Let me tell you this...The training will be top class for those 4 weeks and then after, there will be a steep drop. We stopped receiving training by the trainers because there weren't enough staff and therefore couldn't get help when we needed it, in essence, we went to QA academy to be trained by Google.
4) With regards to deciding the client you go to. They make it seem as if they have done a careful evaluation to see which client you are best fit for. They have not! All they care about is recruiting candidates to fill up open positions for their client. They don't care about your skills, how fit you are for that role or even your own personal preference. Everything is disregarded. And when you complain to argue your case of why you think you may be fit for a better role they will lie and give you a fake excuse as to why they have chosen you for that specific role. And it will all be positive just to butter you up. This happens to everyone and they just give different excuses, don't believe them, and don’t fall for the trap!
5) THIS IS IMPORTANT!! There is a rumour that flies around the academy that you get paid immediately after the 12 week period is up and there is another claims that it is a month after. I can confirm that you get paid a month after the 12 weeks is up. The reason people are unsure about this is because admin, recruiters and trainers say different things. I was told by one of the staff that it’s immediately after the 12 weeks was up and other people were told otherwise and nothing was found online.
6) After you leave the academy, you only receive your basic pay for the first month as this does not include the bonus. If you’re unlucky enough not to leave the academy after the 12 weeks are up because QA feel you are under trained or they have not got a client for you, then you will end up receiving the base rate pay for another 2 months and still be in the academy. The only benefit of this is that you will still be provided accommodation. The training isn't even worth staying longer.
7) Once they give you a date for you to be deployed, they will not allow you to look for accommodation until the week before, putting so much pressure on you to find a house as it is literally a ‘leave on Friday, start on Monday' kind of thing. They have no regard for their consultants and their situation, only what goes in their pockets.
8) Throughout the training they employed more people than their trainers could handle and ended up using all of the rooms within the building whilst moving us from room to room. No stability, at times no comfort and no coordination. Disgraceful!
9) DO NOT BELIEVE THEIR REPLIES TO OTHER COMMENTS ON GLASSDOOR, they are all lies and all of the responses are just recycled and used on other posts. Some aren't even relevant to the post made. They don't even have the decency to make personalized replies to show remorse for the poor service they have provided.
