Pluspunten

Easy to get hired if you have no experience and are willing to work hard. A great place to learn what not to do as a manager. In spite of everything, there are some wonderful people to work with (management excluded).

Minpunten

Everything covered previously is true and continues to be true. Upper management cares little about the “people” of Qualvu and resignations continue to happen at a steady rate. Most everyone I know are looking for other jobs. While there is a HR position in place now, this is not a normal HR role. If you make mention that things aren’t right, you will be labeled as a ”trouble maker.” And , if you have ideas for improvement, management will either steal your ideas and make them their own or criticize you. Everyone is wary at Qualvu of saying too much. Quoting another earlier reviewer, “If you're considering a job at Qualvu, ask why nearly the entire marketing, finance, technical and project management departments quit over a 6 month period. Ask about the kind of hours people work, and whether they feel appreciated. Ask why revenue hasn't gone up in 2 years. Ask for a tour of the warehouse they call an office, and ask yourself if you really want to work in a loud environment with your co-worker a mere 1 foot (or less) away from your desk.” As for upper management, there is no one left to mentor anyone or to learn from. If anything Qualvu is a great place to learn what not to do.

Pluspunten

I worked at Qualvu when it was primarily an online qualitative research software platform - video-based, and worked through the transition to 24tru. They are the same company with very different approaches - Qualvu is a full-service qualitative firm, and 24tru is a platform where big companies can upload all their market research content for data mining. It wasn't easy, and some really good people left while this shift was occurring. They would have to speak for themselves but II believe most/all of the negative reviews were during this period. Qualvu at the time was a pretty exciting place to work - people were highly motivated, and it was fun as the company was growing so fast. A lot of people were making less than they probably could have made in other jobs (me included), but there was a sense that we were all making a big impact, and it was fun. When the move to 24tru started, it was hard on every department - change is never easy. As I'm writing this the transition has come full circle. Qualvu is still there albeit smaller than it was, and the company is focused pretty much entirely on selling large data mining contracts. It's a lot different still than the Qualvu days. Then it was more about qualitative research, however now the company seems more like an Internet company such as a salesforce.com or similar CRM style solution, where the focus is really software technology sales instead of market research projects. The people now are super focused on the success of 24tru, and the dust has completely settled from the transition. It's a great place to work - you work extremely hard, but the management team works just as hard, and care about the culture.

Minpunten

Demands a lot of you - the people here are smart, and management team is pretty tough about operations and doing things right. A high pressure sales environment. You'll get pushed to learn a lot, and to keep up.

It's been quite awhile since I've looked at this website because, quite honestly, the reviews we've received over the last few years were largely negative and in some cases they often rang a bit too close to the truth for comfort. Today, we are a different company in so many ways, it's rewarding to come back and see a review that is as thoughtful (and positive) as this one. So thank you. For the sake of clarity for those reading this, it's probably worth a bit of additional color on our company and what has transpired over the last 18 months. 24tru is now a platform and services business, with Qualvu acting as the research arm of the company. The walk-up to this moment in time has been interesting, to say the least. Pivoting a company is all about making a bet on the future, on the place where growth will live, where innovation can make a difference and resonate with clients, where the economics will be so much more compelling that the employees can benefit over time from the rising fortunes of the company. When you make a big bet like this, it has to create an environment where all parties can thrive. You have to have lofty goals. This said, there is enormous risk in reshaping a business, and it demands really difficult choices. We had to change our org, we had to let really great employees go, we had to evolve the way we communicate with our clients, we had to improve the way we communicate internally as well. Our overarching objective was to set everyone up to succeed. We're lucky. Great people have made the difference leading into and all throughout our transition. We are doing well because we have an exceptional product, our services are exceeding client expectations, and we have a culture of people who are set on doing the best work of their careers. We've also learned a lot. The value of culture, the value of employees that are honest, humble, hungry and smart - we've learned that you can create a business that is greater than the sum of its parts because everyone is participating in a story that is bigger than they are. When it starts to gel, a thriving business is a sight to behold. We are still in those early days, but the outlook is, indeed, positive. And for that, we are incredibly thankful.

Cutting edge technology in market research, great plans for future of the company

Minpunten

I've never been in a work environment this unhealthy. Favoritism is played to a hilt here. Money comes from a guy who owned another company, and he has brought in all his favorite people from the other company, to the point that a cease and desist order was given. They then let go of good people: top salesperson, a good project manager who was there longer, and did a good job, but they needed their people in;a good researcher, even someone who had been there and was a top manager at the company, replaced immediately by a favorite from the other company. No one is safe. Too bad, too. The two presidents of the companies, 24tru and Qualvu, are big idea men who are inspirational. But you won't work for them. You'll get a micromanager who cares more that you do exactly what they say vs what actually works. Best advice I can give is to stay away.
