Pluspunten

Quantum Management Services is a good company to learn highly structured, routine office tasks and for gaining skills in a government setting. In terms of call centre jobs, this is one of the of better paying companies, but take note that you must be bilingual.

I have a bachelors degree in business management, and can testify that Quantum Management Services is a textbook example of a poorly managed company. When I return to university to finish my masters degree, I plan on using Quantum in a case study on the topic of how NOT to treat employees ... They treat their staff with disrespect and show no empathy toward them, even in exceptional situations. Their communications to employees are dismal, or often completely lacking. Morale is incredibly low, to the point where employees lash out by vandalizing the washrooms and damaging the break room. Taking over 100 calls per day, many of them irate, is enough for an information officer to put up with, but Quantum's heavy rules and policies add toxic fuel to the fire. There are very few freedoms while you are taking calls at your station. No reading, no phones, no eating, no standing up, no coats on your chair, no toys on your desk, no running shoes (yes, you WILL get told), no skirts above knee-level (yes, they WILL come around and measure), and the list goes on. If this sort of thing bothers you, it will add up and you will eventually go insane. Also, the company in no way will ever invest in your education or outside training, so other than becoming a supervisor in the call centre, there's basically no chance of really moving up. And don't even think about possibly using this job as a stepping stone to get your foot in the door for a government job. Quantum employees are discouraged to even speak to "Crown Employees." It's like Apartheid in call centre form.

Pluspunten

Like most resident positions, your main perk is your apartment/utilities. Home office is friendly and helpful. Decent benefits offered, and while actual wages are low, they do give raises. Ongoing training and support.

Minpunten

Not Quantum related, but living where you work can be difficult with residents in a small complex. In their eyes you are on duty 24/7 and they feel free to approach you or knock on your door at all hours, when a simple visit during office hours would have sufficed.
