Pluspunten
At one point, RRD was a decent, respectable company to work for. Employees were proud, treated well, and jobs followed a rational and reasonable flow. As a long-time former employee, I saw it decline rapidly recently. Employees are treated as a number, an almighty cog in the wheel of doom.
Minpunten
Management needs to get with the times and get a clue. It is not the 50s and valuable employee suggestions are not heard by factory-mentality management. Further, scare tactics forcing already hard-working employees into work 10 and 12 hour shifts is distasteful and only further deteriorates morale. Walking into work became a death march of sorts for most due to irrational and impossible expectations by management. There is no sick time off policy. If you are sick, cut your hand off, etc, you will get an occurrence. Those stack up over time and are used as leverage against you as yet another fear tactic. Take your vitamins. HR is in bed with management (yes, literally.). I wouldn't expect them to go to bat for you when you really need them. The bulk of the work that was handled in Elgin is now moving off-shore so there is absolutely NO job security. There have been at least 3 major layoffs with more to follow. If you are an individual, an "out of the box" thinker, this is not the job for you. Management will push you down into the line or get rid of you without a second thought.
