Pluspunten

Ability to do a wide variety of projects, products, and tasks. Work with incredibly significant cars, and make cars go fast. Working at Renntech comes with some prestige in the automotive world.

Minpunten

The owner. He truly believes that everyone but him is an idiot. He runs the business as his playground with little regard for what the company needs or reality. Components are not made to a standard, they are made to make the owner happy and his opinion on things is not based on data, knowledge, or science. They sit on a range of what would Mercedes or AMG do in 1986. Be prepared to do unreasonable tasks and go against what you know as an engineer to be right.

Pluspunten

RENNtech is its commitment to giving young adults and interns meaningful, hands-on experience. They are trusted with real responsibilities that help prepare them for success in the professional world.

Minpunten

I've worked at RENNtech for more than seven years, and during that time I've seen people come and go. The high-performance automotive industry is extremely challenging, and some people come in expecting it to be like working at a typical dealership. There's nothing wrong with dealerships such as Kia or Nissan, but RENNtech is a unique organization and one of the few high-performance automotive companies in the world that many enthusiasts would love the opportunity to work for. I first became interested in RENNtech while working outside of the United States. When I joined the company, I was fortunate to receive outstanding relocation assistance and accommodations. The housing provided by the owners was exceptional and made the transition much easier.

Pluspunten

*Given the chance to build and manage the department *Learned many skills on the job without supervision *Developed many industry contacts *Surrounded by knowledgeable people with racing and automotive backgrounds *Exposure to rare and high-end vehicles *Location is well maintained and temperature controlled *Interaction with customers\ *Ample parking *Flexible schedule *Medical benefits *401K matched

Minpunten

Since I was the only one involved in the department I reported directly to the owner. Many times the interactions went ok, in terms of planning/quality control conversations/development. I really felt like the department was helping to make a difference in the company. As other reviews have stated, If you were on the bad side of the conversation then you're met with unprofessional language and public humiliation tactics(ex: being talked down to in the middle of the showroom, in front of the sales team and anyone else within earshot). *The pay was really low considering what I accomplished for that company. *Work life balance was not a priority. Fewer paid vacations compared to the rest of the country and PTO schedule was 1 week a year starting after the first completed year. *Safety protocols were non-existent
