Pluspunten

Getting the basics out of the way; RJW Exteriors will always pay you on time and weekly, their health insurance policy is actually pretty decent when you do qualify for it, and I would say their pay is… decent. Their main competitor will pay more, however being a smaller company, I would say RJW’s pay is fair given it’s size. If you are hourly, you get a paid lunch which is something to cherish given what you do to avoid burnout. Company is pretty diverse. Those are the basics. The main positive about working at RJW Exteriors is how connected the coworkers are. There are some days where work did not feel like work, all due to how close everyone is, at least in their respected department. The call center manager truly cares about her employees, exerts exceptional leadership skills, and does an amazing job at keeping the work interesting. The company does have two outings, which are pretty fun. If you actually care about your job and what you do, you will learn a lot.

Minpunten

The main con about working at RJW Exteriors, is that there is no job security. The company will state that they are having layoffs, while the owner of the company will be going on his 7th week long vacation during the year. The best pro about working at RJW Exteriors was the connection between co-workers, and what the layoffs do is create an unstable environment for workers. When working in a sale’s based company, your representatives need to love your company and feel comfortable to then advocate for it. The love for the company is what makes your product seem better than the competitor’s, not just the price. Ironically, I do not think the owner of the company realizes this, and how unstable the deck of cards really is. The company also wastes a lot of money on a consulting agency, which is joked about constantly as to how useless it really is, at the amount we had. If it was every other week or once a month, that’d be a different story. The company will waste money on consulting weekly but not spend a dime on buying leads for months and be surprised when results are negative after calling the same people over and over again. Sales is also a revolving door, which is to be expected given the industry. However, at a certain point there has to be acknowledgement in something the company is doing wrong to not maintain talent. Speaking on such, when the company has barely any sales people, something to boost morale could have been the owner going on a few sales himself, as closing rates are higher for owners and there is more flexibility in negotiating when owners run their own leads. This could have been the morale boost needed in a bad time. Overall I think the company initially shows itself to be a clear shape, however the closer you get, the more disfigured the company becomes. Owners/leaders/managers need to have a real talk with each other to root out problems, but will not as the fear over job security is high and certain delusions are too grande. Btw. Layoffs happen. But how you do layoffs and what time you do them, is what is concerning.
