Minpunten

You might work day and night for years promoting this company, investing energy well beyond what you are being compensated for because you think it’s a worthy endeavor; you may think you are building a future, but beware they may suddenly stop paying you, simply because they overspent on marketing and growing their brand and no longer have funds. Eventually you may learn they have little respect for you; giving you promises weekly, for months, that deposits are coming, leading you on while leaving you at the point you are degraded, stressed. You may lose your health insurance, not be able to pay your rent or car lease, unable to purchase groceries… and the only thing Raw Elements management will care about is why you aren’t able to get your work done. Sure, it may sound ridiculous, why would you stay there, but every week you’re told you’re about to get paid, and you already devoted almost a decade with a company, they're giving you "points" in the company, and you thought you could trust them. (Won’t even get into details about how this spiraled but the chain of events from their poor business practices left me in a hospital bed trying to survive, all while they seem to have more than ample funds to grow and market their altruistic brand. This is not really a new issue, people were brought on board around year four or five that pushed a sort of sleazy corporate agenda. One of the original (wonderful) founders of the company was pushed out without much fanfare. Recently when a lab found benzene in their sunscreen, the company decided to not make any public statement (at least that the general public might notice), instead on social media with all the comments asking about it on their posts, they requested each individual to send a DM to get any information. Sure, imagine they want to shush up the incident, but benzene is very dangerous; there is no level of benzene in skin care that would be considered safe. Surely it was an accident - perhaps from cleaners at the factory the product is made, or an issue with some ingredient, and that they’re working to find the source and stop it, but imagine they are keeping this hush hush with their customers because a recall would crush their bank account; their business is more important than your health. It’s really a shame because this company had so many things to offer in terms of giving consumers a safer sunscreen option, and could have been held up as a shinning light, of a small brand growing to take a nice chunk of the sunscreen market from chemical personal care companies. That all said, now it’s been years, still haven’t been paid. Looking for a job with a future where you are respected and compensate, you can do better than this company. Especially now (post-covid) that it’s an employee’s market.
