Minpunten
Projects live and die like some hackathon: watching some other tech teams just receive projects to do with obvious signs of no commercial success only to be shut down happens day and night. For teams outside, it's just popcorn time. Literal snake management: some management backstab/humiliate/character assassinate both each other and their own employees even after they have left. Incredibly toxic especially if you don't align with their "narratives". Forced leave consumption: 16 days annual leave is reduced to 12 days because of forced consumption. If you need more you are advised to take no pay leave. Risk of layoffs/firings: sudden hiring spree in software teams leads current and former managers to fear impending layoffs as the company is burning cash with no returns. ceo claimed he will try his best not to do it, but the hiring there is in some teams increases concern of stability. Promotion not entirely by merit: promotions are by how you can ingratiate yourself to upper management and their agendas, those that support "narratives" are kept, those that seek to work in the firm's interest are let go for management fear of being called out. Bonus: company burning cash hiring but does not give out bonuses consistently? hearing this was confusing.
