Pluspunten
- Pay is pretty competitive in its field for the area as a New Hire - Good 401k matching and healthcare options - Dramatic lack of personnel leads to a high degree of rewarding on-the-job training and the opportunity to wear a lot of different hats - Decent flexibility for day-to-day - Most colleagues are highly experienced, having been at their position for a decade or more - Fair flexibility for WFH during and following pandemic height This is a great first job to build experience for a year or three. Just don't overstay your welcome.
Minpunten
- Company mandates usage of paid vacation time for multiple week-long chunks; during pandemic height, most PTO was mandated for use - Multiple acquisitions led to multiple restructures with very rough transitions for both new and existing employees and complete lack of stability - Frequent unpleasant clashes and butting heads between departments and between regions within the same department - very turbulent politics in the newly-globalised company, often leading to entire projects being abandoned, shifted, or taken away due to petty politics, often being personal - Great initial wage offer leads to stagnant raises and comically stagnant promotions/mobility - highly understaffed, but since everyone who isn't a new hire has been there for 5 to 30 years, the only room to grow is sideways - Overreliance on bottom-of-the-barrel contract work to pad out poor staffing, leading to additional work for permanent employees
