Disclaimer, I didn’t work for this location, but the one I did work at wasn’t listed. There are quite a few challenges. For a company that makes most revenue through the stores, the Sales Associates are not treated like they should be. Sales I’s and Sales II’s are two completely different jobs with the Sales II’s having more responsibility, but the pay difference is little to none. Forget advancing in the company to a higher position too. If you aren’t a favorite or a big butt-kisser, you will not advance in this company. It doesn’t matter how much experience, knowledge, and time you have put into your work. Favoritism is a huge issue. If you don’t get along with at least half of your team, you may as well leave because it’s gets petty working with a team that doesn’t like you. You will be treated like a kid being bullied in school. Working at Thrifty Shopper sounds like a blast and sometimes it can be a happy and fun environment, but when it’s not, it’s an absolute nightmare. Communication between other stores, warehouses, upper management, and sales associates is lacking as well. The company relies on meetings once every 3 months to communicate with the people working in the stores. This leaves three months of confusion, tension, and a whole lot of misunderstanding. But fret not, in 3 months you’ll have 30 minutes to an hour to try and figure out what you are doing for the next 3 months.
