Pay: The pay is low for all the efforts expended working here. Since it is a resort, sometimes it can take an hour just to park a mile away and get into the locker room, check out a uniform, get changed and catch an elevator to your floor. Most people in experienced level positions have second jobs just so they can afford to keep this one. 6 month commitment: If you apply for a position, keep in mind that you must remain in that position for at least 6 months prior to switching to another. Taking time off: It is very difficult to get times you request off approved. Also, if you request a day off and it gets denied and you happen to be ill that day you will be written up and uneligible for promotions for 6+ months. Because of this, many employees will suggest you simply call in sick for any days you absolutely need off. Not being able to enjoy the property: You are unable to stay at the hotel if you are an employee. You can dine in the two main restaurants during slow periods with prior written permission from your manager but you cannot dine in the beautiful oceanfront lounge, 180blü. I highly recommend coming here for sunset drinks prior to applying here. Unlike other establishments in the industry, you are not able to order take out during your breaks or after your shifts. You are only able to eat in the cafeteria. If you are very health conscious, it can be difficult to bring your own lunch as you have no access to a cooler during your shift.
