Minpunten
These observations reflect my perspective based on my experience working at Ruffwear. - Since 2023, the C-level leadership has adopted a more secretive and isolationist approach, which has made it challenging to grasp the company's overall direction and how individual contributions fit into the larger goals. - The company's direction in recent years seems disconnected from its brand history, and the business plan appears to be influenced by the prevailing trends in artificial intelligence at that time. - There appears to be a tendency towards a cargo cult mentality in decision-making, resulting in expedited onboarding processes and fast-tracked projects without the necessary operational frameworks to support their success. - The resulting disarray and lack of organization are not uncommon in young companies; however, it feels particularly surprising given Ruffwear's thirty-year legacy of producing industry-leading products. - There is a noticeable atmosphere of low trust and psychological safety, partly due to ongoing layoffs and inconsistent patterns of leadership behavior and communication. - At times, behaviors at the departmental and C-level resemble Machiavellian tactics, contributing to a company culture that may feel reminiscent of a NRM and reinforcing the patriarchal environment referenced by other former employees.
