Pluspunten
SHIFT has perks that you won't find at many other companies - unless you head over to Google, Facebook, one of the blue chip tech companies that offers insane employee benefits. Parties every Friday, week off for Christmas, the ability to not only work from home, but work from home in another state (if you've proven to be a valuable employee), company and team outings, Summer Fridays - the list is pretty long. The management knows everyone's underpaid and works to provide other benefits that make it a fun place to work. Experiences also vary depending on what team you're on - some AMs, ADs and VPs invite ACs to challenge themselves and pitch top tier press, while some steer you away from being challenged at all. The ability to challenge yourself on a regular basis makes for faster promotions, so those who are within the constraints of their job description are often unhappy in the end. If you're put on a team where you're challenged to pitch those tough reporters and come up with outside of the box ideas, you will love your experience at SHIFT.
Minpunten
The company is YOUNG. Really young. And this is coming from someone who was also one of the young ones while working there (first job out of college). This proposes a problem because everyone thinks the grass is always greener .... and it's not. I'm not sure where it comes from because the moment you talk to anyone else at a more corporate company, the moment you realize how lucky you are at SHIFT. The atmosphere is also super clicky and gossipy. For example, it's common to talk about your salary, which of course, causes drama. It also baffles me that the young people talk about how long the hours are, mainly because the ones that are working the longest are upper management (AMs and ADs), which comes with more responsibility and a higher salary. If you're below a SAE, you are 8:30 to 6:00 at the very latest - that's not long people.
