Pluspunten
• Employee-Centric Culture (Earlier Years): Sabre India was once a truly employee-first organization. The environment 5–8 years ago was warm, inclusive, and especially supportive of women in tech. The leadership genuinely cared about people, and employees felt valued and heard. • Great Pay Hikes & Rewards: There were consistent and meaningful annual hikes, performance-based rewards, and internal recognition programs that made people feel appreciated for their efforts. • Work-Life Balance: Flexible work culture, manageable workloads, and a focus on maintaining employee well-being made it a desirable place to work. • Strong Camaraderie: Teams were close-knit, supportive, and collaborative. Even contractors were treated with respect and given opportunities to contribute meaningfully.
Minpunten
Cons: • Cultural Decline Post-COVID: The company’s culture changed drastically after the pandemic. Leadership became increasingly hierarchical, with growing arrogance at the top — especially among a few managers in the Bangalore office. Decisions felt disconnected from ground reality. • Disconnected & Unapproachable HR: HR lost its people-first attitude. There was no meaningful communication during hard times, especially during layoffs. Employees were left feeling abandoned and unheard. • Focus on Optics Over Substance: Instead of focusing on upgrading technology or competing with peers, Sabre leaned into superficial efforts like town halls, fancy parties, and frequent LinkedIn celebrations. The actual state of projects and departments was ignored. • Favoritism & Poor Visibility: Only a handful of employees appear consistently in public-facing events, social media, and leadership activities, while others go unseen. This favoritism created an environment where merit and contribution didn’t always translate into opportunities. • Insensitive Layoffs: Employees who gave years to the company were let go without genuine empathy or follow-up. Even after losing a loved one during this time, there was barely any human outreach or compassion. • No Real Lessons Learned: The same project mistakes that led to previous failures are being repeated again, with no signs of introspection or meaningful change.
