Teammates. Lots of wonderful people work here. They are what make it survivable.

Leadership. The entire executive leadership team is completely detached from reality. One is openly ableist - not good for a disability charity. Another wants to replace the workforce with AI. As a collective, they are determined to throw away money on vanity projects with no return on investment and now the organisation's finances are in the depths of hell as a result. They are currently proposing massive redundancies for the second time this year. Of course, they've kept their own jobs safe. Instead, despite a commitment to becoming an anti-racist organisation, their proposals disproportionately negatively affect people of colour. Despite being a disability charity, their proposals disproportionately affect disabled employees. They also disproportionately affect women. Funny how white non-disabled men come up ahead in the redundancy proposals given that they also come up ahead in leadership. The pension is the bare legal minimum, and they expect us to be grateful for it. They refer to it as a benefit and a perk. It's not. It often feels like we're in the trenches. We are routinely expected to work additional hours to complete non-essential tasks because it will make someone more senior look good. Workload had increased exponentially despite much lesser resource and man power. And leadership promise it will change, and have been promising for 2 years. Yet it continues to get worse on all fronts.

Hi, Thanks for taking the time to leave a review. I am glad you can see some positives of working at Scope through the great people you work with. Scope has been going through a period of significant change. As costs have increased and income become harder to bring in we have had to review how we operate. We took action in Retail which has stemmed the significant losses from last year. This then meant we needed to review and reduce the size of our Corporate Services. We have worked hard on our equality impact assessment findings since the opening of consultation. We committed to looking at additional mitigations for any marginalised groups where initially we found a disproportionate impact was being proposed. We will know how successful that has been once the restructuring is complete. We know our pension is based around the auto-enrolment approach. We have previously modelled increases and discussed with our colleague forum about whether to invest in the pension or in salary increases. We invested in salary increases as a result. As we move through the consultation we’ll be focusing on new ways of working. I am keen all our colleagues get involved and are part of the solution to make Scope a better place to work. If you’re interested in working with children, this is a great place to get your foot in the door. I don’t really have anything bad to say it was a great experience.

More of a temporary type of position because of the low pay and low hours
