Minpunten
During the interview process, training and guidance were promised for junior recruiters. However, once I started working, there was no structured training or onboarding provided.
Expectations and instructions from the senior recruiter were inconsistent and often changed at the last minute. For example, submissions that were initially said to be due the following week would suddenly be required the next day or even the same afternoon. This created confusion and unnecessary pressure, especially for someone in a junior role who was still trying to learn the process.
Performance reviews and feedback were also unclear. Instead of proper guidance, issues were often pushed down to junior staff even when the direction from senior recruiters was inconsistent.
Another concern was leadership capability. Even senior recruiter struggled to close technical roles in the oil & gas sector, yet the blame would often be shifted to junior team members.
Because of the lack of training, inconsistent expectations, and poor guidance from senior staff, this environment is not suitable for entry-level recruiters or fresh graduates who are trying to start their careers and learn the fundamentals of recruitment.
