Pluspunten

Lovely employees Toilet on premises, but no sanitary bin

Minpunten

- staff relationships & break times are policed, not allowed to eat lunch together or have general chit chat without being listened to or watched at all times. Take that as you will. - regularly make staff uncomfortable with inappropriate comments about appearance, weight, sexuality and race. - have no trust in their employees and never praise (not even a “well done”). - if you heat up something in the microwave that management does not like the smell of, you will me made aware and potentially publicly embarrassed in front of the office. - not flexible whatsoever in terms of work hours or sickness. Do not believe their staff if they are sick, online medical certificates are not valid in their eyes. Must go to the GP, pay for the appointment and get a medical certificate for it to be “eligible” to go under sick leave. Otherwise, it is taken out of your annual leave (even if you have a pre-existing medical condition that they are aware of). - no communication with staff. Would rather ghost casual employees than be honest with them and let them go, leaving them out of work with no idea that they’ve been fired. - pin staff against each other and bad mouth to fellow employees. - can’t take more than 10 business days of annual leave consecutively at a time, regardless of the fact that you work for said annual leave. Are usually told no with the excuse “if I say yes to you, I’ll have to start saying yes to everyone”, although will allow certain employees to take more than 10 business days. Very contradictory. - they will carry on about how much loyalty and commitment from employees means to them, but will do nothing to encourage loyalty. - no basic amenities, have to buy your own tea and coffee. - would rather exploit “interns” for unpaid labour and teach them no valuable skills than hire actual staff. - don’t be surprised if you’re kicked out of the kitchen (if you can call it that) if they need to use it to prepare their lunch. Was also told you can’t eat at your desk either as it confuses people as to whether you’re on break or not, so in some cases you have no choice but to go outside. - ask inappropriate and unnecessary questions during interviews: “do you have tattoos” (not relevant in the 21st century, even ask this for a HO role which is not a public-facing job) “do you have a boyfriend” (???).

Pluspunten

1 hour long lunch breaks

Minpunten

My entire experience was so so so so horrible. The "internship" in question is only unpaid warehouse labour. I mindlessly stood at a table and wiped shoe boxes for hours and would still be asked to stay back. I didn't feel welcome or comfortable with any of the team. I seriously couldn't stress enough DO NOT TAKE THIS INTERNSHIP. I don't know how it's legal.

Pluspunten

Exposure to operations and industry processes.

Minpunten

There were ongoing issues with payroll accuracy and a lack of transparency around pay structure, which required repeated follow-up to resolve. There was also consistent pressure to stay beyond scheduled hours to complete tasks, despite no clear agreement around overtime or compensation. Expectations were often communicated last minute as the management usually arrived in the afternoon, creating unnecessary stress. The workplace culture was a major concern. Comments were made about employees’ food being “too strong” when heating it up in the communal kitchen followed up by inappropriate comments about how it smelt for other people that bring “normal” food, which was highly inappropriate and targeted towards a specific race. These situations were not handled sensitively and contributed to an uncomfortable and exclusionary environment. In addition, management introduced increasingly rigid controls, such as strict monitoring of time and movement, constantly checking cameras, which created a low-trust atmosphere rather than supporting productivity. Overall, the environment felt highly reactive, with unclear processes, inconsistent/discriminatory management, and a workplace culture that did not feel respectful or inclusive.
