Pluspunten

All of the pro's I can think of no longer apply, thanks to covid and the new ownership. The office was a nice space to be in, with a decent gym, nice rooftop patio, and was close to many good downtown food options. The company is transitioning into a remote only entity so the office building is going away. The only pro left is remote work.

Minpunten

People are leaving this company in droves. Especially the software engineering talent and tenured employees. Almost everyone I worked with when I started has left. More and more foreign contractors have been hired to replace software engineers at a lower cost. The new company leadership is from EWS Capital. Do your homework on them. Investment in infrastructure is minimal. Temporary fixes turned into permanent solutions. Certain teams were understaffed for years and that's only going to get worse. No more bonuses. - I doubt this applies to leadership Laughably outdated internally developed apps that are unreliable and frustrating to use and support. Culture that feels very fake and forced.

Thank you for this feedback. As an experience management provider, it’s always disappointing to hear when a team member has had or is having a bad experience. We are admittedly driving a lot of change at SMG, which isn’t going to suit everyone. SMG was founder led for 31 years, and while we acknowledge its rich history, a transformation with new investment is needed to drive the software innovation that will help the company grow by attracting and retaining great customers. This transformation will bring much-needed improvement to our infrastructure and internal apps and tooling, as well as numerous other productivity gains as we pivot to become a high-growth software company. We are in the midst of a cultural transition as we move to a remote first model, something we’ve heard many employees want as they value the flexibility and productivity they’ve gained the past two years working remotely. We do still value in-person collaboration and will soon be establishing a new collaboration space for our employees to leverage for team connection and bringing balance when they need a day working alongside others or some place other than their home. And in regard to bonuses, we converted staff bonuses to salary increases at an equal rate to give employees more reliability in earnings at a time of inflation. Change is hard, but businesses often must transition to achieve growth, and we’ll work harder to bring our employees along with the change.
